Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)
The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) is the new way of recognising vocational achievement - through the award of credit for units and qualifications - across England and Northern Ireland and Wales.
The QCF aims to provide more flexible routes and choice in gaining full qualifications, enabling career progression to be achieved in smaller and more manageable steps.
The QCF is now open for accreditations, with the full implementation to be phased in over the next 18 months. The QCF will completely replace the current NQF (National Qualifications Framework) by January 2011.
There will be a 'mixed use' of both QCF and NQF qualification registrations until December 2010. The majority of qualifications will be redeveloped sometime during the 2009/2010 academic year, in time for delivery from August 2010.
CTS are looking at ways in which training programmes and qualifications will be incorporated into this structure.
Awards available from August 2010 QCF Certificate & Diploma in Customer Service Level 2 & 3 and QCF Certificate & Diploma in Business and Administration Level 2 & 3 will be available from August 2010. Please call for details.
