This is a modular course designed to cover a wide spectrum of quantity surveying topics of relevance to both building and civil engineering contractors. Topics covered include:
- measurement of construction work
- procurement methods, estimating, tendering and contract documentation
- valuations, interim payments and final accounts
- contractual entitlement and claims
- cost-value reconciliation.
The emphasis is on a practical ‘hands-on’ approach to the subject matter and delegates will be working on case study materials designed to hone work-based skills and understanding.
The modules will also be of interest to all main contractor and subcontractor personnel involved with the measurement and valuation of construction work, the placing and management of contracts and subcontracts and the financial control of projects from tender to final account.
These modules may be taken as ‘stand-alone’ courses or combined to create courses of up to 5 days duration as these will run consecutively.
- Measurement: Module One – 1 day course
- Quantity Surveying Essentials: Module Two-Four – 3 day course
- Cost-value Reconciliation: Module Five – 1 day course
Following successful completion of all five ‘core’ modules, delegates will possess the requisite knowledge, understanding, core skills and confidence necessary to perform the functions of a contractor’s site quantity surveyor.
There will be 6 individual optional courses available on request. It is our intention to advertise dates throughout the year responding to demands for this training. Please call for latest information & register your interest.
